Small Pond Fishing
One of Northern Maine’s best kept secrets is it’s abundance of small trout ponds that hold truly native unstocked brook trout. We have stashed canoes or small boats, on many of these small trout ponds, which can be easily accessed for your morning or evening fishing trip. A few of these ponds are fly-fishing only, but most are restricted to artificial lures only. The choice is up to you whether you want to spin fish or fly-fish for these native trout. We recommend booking for the spring and fall seasons, when the waters are cooler temperatures and the trout are more active. Small Pond fishing is restricted to only two clients this ensure that you receive the full attention of the guide.

Big Water Fishing (Trolling)
If catching fish to eat is what you desire we offer trolling fishing trips on Lower Wilson Pond and several other large bodies of water in the Moosehead Lake area. We have a fully equipped 24’ boat that can accommodate up to four people. Wilson Pond produces Land Locked Salmon, Lake Trout and Brook Trout. Every year there are always a couple of trophy Lake Trout (Togue) pulled from the deep waters of Wilson Pond. Anyone has the opportunity to hook onto one of these monsters while fishing with Young’s Guide Service. These fish are mostly caught by trolling the waters. This is a great trip for someone who might not be able to walk far or someone who just wants to sit back and enjoy the great view’s while catching fish. We only offer half day trips simply because the best trolling times are first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening. All of the gear will be provided the only thing you need to remember is your clothing to accompany the weather.
