Private Guided Boat Tours on Moosehead Lake
The following tours will be offered aboard our new fully equipped 27′ Weldcraft Ocean King, ‘Hooked on Adventure’ which is equipped completely with your comfort in mind. There is a fully enclosed spacious heated cabin, with comfortable seating for up to 5 adults. There is also plenty of room on the deck to sit and enjoy the sounds of nature and soak up the summer sunshine.
Mount Kineo is a prominent geological feature located on a 1,150-acre peninsula that extends from the easterly shore of Moosehead Lake. Chris, your guide, will take you up close to view the 700’ sheer rock cliffs that rise straight up from Moosehead Lake. You will not only see the awe of Kineo, but Chris will share with you the history behind this iconic mountain and it’s peninsula.

Charter Young’s Guide Service for a relaxing 6 hour tour of the most remote and breathtaking parts of Moosehead Lake. Sit back and enjoy the views of the many spectacular mountains that surround this 75,451 acre fresh water lake, aboard ‘Hooked on Adventure’. Along your travels your Guide will educate you of the areas rich history. There is always the possibility of getting to see an eagle and/or loons. This tour includes a shore lunch on one of Moosehead Lakes pristine beaches.

Take in the magnificent autumn color palette as it cascades down the mountain sides and reflects upon the waters of Moosehead Lake. There is no need to be concerned about the cooling temperatures that come with the autumn season as you travel aboard ‘Hooked on Adventure’, which not only has comfort seating, but a heated cab. There is always the possibility of getting to see an eagle and/or loons.

Bob GabareeOctober 8, 2026Chris was a pleasure to go out with on the Moose Safari. He is so very knowledgeable on everything moose. It is very evident that Chris really enjoys this type of work. Our day started early and we got to our location before sunrise and parked on side road and it had started raining on our way. Chris was upfront and said it wasn't a prime day for moose but being outdoor people we understand the weather is the weather. So as it got lighter out the rain stops....so Chris proceeds down to some of the moose areas. As we drive down one of the dirt roads, Chris sees a moose on the the side of the road and we stop the truck. At this point we start taking some great pictures...the moose stayed there for a bit moving across the road and staring at us. It seemed to pose at times as clearly she knew we were there. Eventually she wandered back into the woods and we continued our journey. A little while later Chris spots another one in the brush on the side...the moose was in the thicket but again we got some great pictures. A bit later we spot another one in the brush wandering around...we stop and once again we are able to get some great pictures. At this point we were coming to the end of the trip. We had the best time ever and could not asked anymore of Chris. He is number one in his field and knows how to find the moose. It is not easy but Chris does not give up easy and will do his best to find a moose or two that you can see. Don't hesitate to book with Chris, you will not be disappointed.Posted on Google

Chris provided a personalized experience that you simply won't get with the larger tour companies. Chris grew up in the area, so his local knowledge is incredible. As a lifelong resident and hunter, he knows places that the big outfitters don't. He also understands how factors like the weather, moon phase, and food availability affect where the moose will be, and it definitely showed. During our tour, we saw four moose! The highlight was watching a huge bull standing in the water, feeding for about 20 minutes. It was an unforgettable experience. We also saw a young one-year-old moose and, on our way back to town, spotted two more massive moose. The experience didn't even end there! Chris recommended a spot for us to check out the following morning on our own, and thanks to his advice, we saw two more moose. Chris's passion, knowledge, and dedication to giving his guests the best possible experience are obvious. Lisa AOctober 9, 2026Spectacular Moose and Foliage Trip This was my 3rd year using Young's and as always it was an amazing experience. We saw a beautiful Bull and Cow together in the same location! Highly recommend using this service! On another note, I was shocked to see how many cars were buzzing up and down the logging roads. The moose sightings have to be down, it was like a circus. I understand the thrill of catching a glimpse of one of these remarkable animals, but maybe websites should not direct tourists to these areas. This year was shocking compared to my previous vists. But I was lucky and had a great experience. Thank you Chris for caring about not only your customers, but the welfare of the Moose and the preservation of the beauty of the Moosehead area. Bill RSeptember 10, 2026Chris is amazing!! Book now. Chris is the man. He's a life long Mainer. Knows the North Maine Woods without a map and is very knowledgeable about all things Maine. We did an evening Moose watching tour so we could shoot photography. We had an amazing time with him and plan on going back for another longer adventure with him. He does all kinds of guides and hunting as well. I challenge you to find someone cooler than this guy. Also recommended The Eagles Nest in Bangor for lunch which was awesome. Jack GJuly 16, 2026Photographing Maine moose and loons. Had a great experience looking for and finding loons with chicks and moose to photograph with Chris. It was not a good year for nesting loons in the Greenville area. In large part, because of his knowledge of the area and experience, Chris had a hunch there may have been an adult with chicks in the west cove area of Moosehead Lake. His instincts were correct, and we got great shots of the Mom and two chicks! Our day two intent was to photograph moose. We did see several during the first part of our morning outing, but too far off for any good shots. Chris was focused on finding a moose we could photograph, and, again, with his knowledge of the area and tons of experience, he was able to put us in front of a young bull moose still feeding! Again, fantastic, we got our shots! One last comment about Chris. He cares deeply about what he's doing and about the wildlife he works with. He seems to be able to maintain the right balance between having his customers have a good or great experience and taking care that the wildlife he's searching for are respected and not intruded upon. BrianJuly 16, 2026The best there is!!! Absolutely recommend!!!! Even with windy tough weather we still saw 7 moose (5 bulls, 2 cows) and also 3 bear. Theres a massive difference between the commercial company tours that are just doing it for a quick buck, verse having someone who loves what they do take you out. We went to a secluded hidden spot and found a cow swimming in the pond. Great company, great experience, great memories.
