Want to escape the hot weather? Are you ready for a full day filled with some hiking, exploring and enjoying some of Maine’s best natural wonders?
Your adventure to the Debsconeage Ice Caves begins with your Registered Maine Guide, Chris, picking you up at your accommodations with his comfortable vehicle. As you travel close to two hours through the Northern Maine woods roads there are many opportunities to see wildlife and spectacular views before arriving at the trail head of the Ice Caves. At the trail head, you will hike just over one mile to reach the caves. The Debsconeage Ice Caves are a natural wonder that holds ice right through the hot summer months. Once there, you have the opportunity to climb down inside the cave and to chill in the cool temperatures produced by the ice, as well as time after the caves to hike to the edge of Debsconeage Lake and/or to the top of the caves to see the spectacular view of Debsconeage Lake.
