EXCELLENTVerified Last moose trip for 2025. We saw 14 moose! This was a phenomenal experience. Way beyond my expectations! The last moose we saw was a bull moose which was what I was hoping to see. Young’s Guide Service is where you need to go if you want to see some moose. You will be in very capable hands with Chris. Our excursion started pre-dawn. We saw many moose before the sun came up. Chris is very knowledgeable about moose and he knows where to go to see them. His years of experience are on full display. He truly cares about the animals and it shows. I was excited to see the moose and he seemed just as excited. We saw 13 moose on my trip! I even got to hear Chris use his moose calling talents. I had a great time and I highly recommend doing this tour. I plan on doing it again. Next time, I may add the boat trip to Mount Kineo because Chris mentioned the great new boat they bought. One more thing, it’s hard to beat Maine in the fall …. just beautiful.Posted onVerified Absolutely incredible experience! We’d planned this trip months in advance and it was better than we ever imagined it could be. The owner, Chris, is one of the best guides we’ve come upon. He was professional, knowledgeable and extremely capable of finding moose. We met him early in the morning since that’s when the moose are active. We rode in his comfy SUV for hours traversing timber company land. He had his CB active to ensure we didn’t come upon any logging trucks unexpectedly. His ability to both find and spot the moose was incredible! We were passing an area with lots of uprooted stumps. He noticed one of the black piles looked different and sure enough, it was a moose. We saw a mother and her tiny (yet long-legged) calf, twin yearlings who posed for us a long time, plus many others. All told, we saw 11 that day! As the morning progressed, we saw fewer moose, noticing only one in our last 45 minutes. Chris picked us up at the arranged time and place and showed us his excellent local moose touring skills. It was a very pleasant trip, we learned heaps and saw 14 moose. Yes 14 totally wild animals just doing what moose do. And all that from a comfortable vehicle, it was too cold to go on the water. (42F, 5C). After YEARS of unsuccessfully looking for moose on our own, we went on a Moose Tour with Chris and saw 6! (okay - personally, I only saw 5 of them - BUT I SAW 5!) We did the moose safari and saw three moose. While Chris does not guarantee you will see a moose (which he told us up front), he has done this his whole life and knows all the best spots. You ride is his very comfortable vehicle, which is important on bumpy logging roads. Chris is naturally engaging and shares lots of interesting information.
